Bannet is a National Certified Counselor working towards Licensure and also holds a certification in addiction studies and therapeutic practice. Bannet is experienced in working with clients facing different challenges in life such as drug and alcohol addiction and co-occurring disorders, behavioral health challenges, intellectual disabilities, anxiety and depression and ADHD.
Bannet works with both adolescents and adults aged 15 and above. She employs both a person-centered and collaborative approach during her therapy sessions. She offers an empathetic and understanding environment while also challenging your thought process. Bannet implements cognitive behavioral therapy to assist in reframing and restructuring cognitive biases during sessions.
During her free time, Bannet enjoys volunteering in her community, advocating for individuals with various mental health concerns, fitness and taking long walks in nature. Bannet’s goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for her clients to express themselves, since she believes that self-expression fosters self -awareness and thus, promoting de-stigmatization of various mental health concerns.
Bannet favorite quote is "no man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent a part of the main" by John Donne; meaning that people need each other and are better together than they are in isolation. Every individual is one piece of the greater whole and that is humanity itself.
